Hidan - Page 1

Hidan is a Missing-nin from the Hidden Rain Village and member of Akatsuki. Hidan left his village believing that its ninja were being misused and that they were meant to kill. He killed several innocent people in the Hidden Rain Village as he was leaving and joined the cult religion Jashin. The Jashin religion is based around the idea that non-violence was a sin and that the weak should die. Eventually Hidan found himself joining Akatsuki and being partnered with Kakuzu. Hidan takes great pleasure in killing his enemies in the most painful of ways using the secret techniques he learned from the Jashin religion. He's seemingly insane when fighting and he uses foul language without restraint.

Hidan's main ability is the Curse of Jashin jutsu that he uses for immortality. He carries a large red scythe that he uses to draw blood from his enemies and then activates his Curse of Jashin technique. If he is able to ingest even a tiny amount of his opponents blood, he is able to use his voodoo type ritual that gives him the appearance of a zombie. During this state any injury Hidan takes is reflected to his enemy. He takes sadistic pleasure in sharing the pain he inflicts to his enemies by hurting himself. He has no strategy other than drawing blood from an opponent to activate the Jashin curse due to the fact that he cannot be killed and has no fear of death.

Hidan's partner, Kakuzu, is a century old ninja that is nearly impossible to kill. Hidan and Kakuzu were ordered to capture the Two-tails jinchuriki, Yugito Nii, which they did. Upon doing so they were then ordered to capture the Nine-tails jinchuriki Uzumaki Naruto as well and set out to the Land of Fire. The duo eventually came in contact with a platoon consisting of Asuma, Shikamaru, Izumo, and Kotetsu. Hidan was ambushed and stabbed by Izumo and Kotetsu before being aided by his partner Kakuzu. Hidan battled Asuma while Kakuzu took care of the others. Hidan eventually killed Asuma before being summoned to extract the Two-tails with Kakuzu by the Akatsuki leader. Three days later after sealing the two tails Hidan and Kakuzu continued their search for Naruto. They were tracked down by Kakashi, Shikamaru, Chouji and Ino. Hidan was trapped in Shikamaru's Shadow jutsu, a jutsu only the Nara clan can access, and led away into a forest. He was tricked into killing one of Kakuzu's hearts by Shikamaru before being blown up into pieces by an exploding tag trap set up by Shikamaru and buried alive. Hidan is currently incapacitated and is dying a slow painful death from lack of nutrients while buried alive.
