Review by redkclark - As soon as I downloaded a preview of this game i thought it would be really cool, I bought it and figured out, BOY was i wrong? Naruto is a cel-shaded beat 'em up based around the manga/anime series. You can select between different game modes including Arcade mode, VS mode as well as a story mode. While playing in Arcade and Story mode, you can unlock a few hidden characters to extend your character selection
The controls are quite similar to Smash Brothers, you perform an attack with the A & B buttons. Different kind of attacks can be made while hitting the control stick in combination with the attack buttons. Each character can perform combos, can throw other characters and has a special attack The Controls arent without fault though, the buttons feel kinda weird at first, but you get used to it.
The sound in the game is also repetitive and gets boring after a while (same with all games).
Graphics in the game are also cel shaded and look pretty cool. you can actually tell the difference beteween most games. Naruto has one of the best graphics systems ive seen in a long time.
After about 2 hours i had unlocked almost everything the game had to offer. i was really disappointed. if you really enjoy naruto and are just addicted to it, go for it. i guarantee it will be a waste of money, but it is really your choice.
The lack of characters and story mode really drag it down. It was good for a first attempt by Tomy for the Gamecube, but the game really needs work.
