Game description

Review by redkclark - Narutimate Hero is a fighting game based upon the Naruto series. This game is quite good, considering that it is a first attempt on the PS2 for a Naruto Game. you can play as many as 12 different characters, Naruto, Haku, Zabuza, kakashi and some other unlockable characters are all part of the twist.Other characters who arent playable make cameos in the background and in the plotline also.

You can perform jutsus and very cool special attacks, like Naruto's Naruto Rendan and Kakashi's Chidori. it has a very friendly fighting and control system that is easy to learn. You can really pick it up fast. for gameplay, it doesnt get any better.

The Sound is very ho-hum , you kinda feel like you are in the naruto universe. It has the theme song for the anime, all the characters voices are done by the anime actors. The fighting music really has a eastern-type of vibe to it. The music does get annoying and boring after you've played it a lot though.

They are OK. Not up to par with most cel-shaded games, but a decent 1st start on the PS2. They could be a lot better and the environments more enhanced, but we cant be too picky.

Replay value

Narutimate hero really does lose its replay value after a few weeks because if you play a lot, you will easily unlock the extras and special things in the game. Die-hard fans will play it a lot, but the casual fan will lose interest fast. The choice to keep on going is really for the player to decide, however, i found i lost interest after i beat it the 1st time.

This is the 1st effort by Tomy, and props to them for almost getting it down right.
