History is taught to inform the present generation of the human's accomplishments and disasters of the past to give you a more open mind. Most of what people think of doing now, at some point in the past it was done. It gives you an idea of the outcome. What's happening now, you can already be aware of just by reading of it on the news papers, internet, tv, etc. But I suppose people have different opinions of the matter.
give me your opinion on why you think school is important...

lmao, o please, most USA history books are full of lies, questionable truths, white lies, and straight up bullshit. Actually every countries history books are the same. Highschool's only purpose is to indoctrinate the kids into what ever countries culture they grow up in. Some of the famous German generals you learn in one country are completly left out of the history books in another country (like Germany). And everybody puts thier own spin on events that happen as well. Like who started WWI and WWII. History is just indoctrination in highschool. They love to twist the facts just to get the kids to "love America, the most perfect country in the world".
I could go on all day...yea i had some bad times back in middleschool with my teachers. We argued A LOT over the events that they taught us in history.

It may be full of lies and whatnot, but in this generation people use those "events" to create a whole new way to accomplish what they want by changing what went wrong in the past. Most of the ideas that people get, have something to do with history.

But that's going to happen anyway. Its called trial and error. It has little to do with the past in the history books, and more like learning from past mistakes. They dont get that so much from history books, but rather life experiences.

Not in all cases. But history, even if is just a "little" does take part in our present life. That's all I really want to point out.

yes it does, especially in the political arena, but not the history you learn from highschool.
